This elevated, rural site has spectacular, expansive views over Golden Bay while enjoying all day sun.
The house is positioned as high as possible up the ridge and is orientated so every room takes advantage of these stunning views.
The owners wanted an uncluttered, relaxed home where they felt that they were always on holiday. The home is big enough to have their extended family stay without feeling crowded. There is a generous, central open plan living space that creates a comfortable meeting area between two bedroom wings. These wings provide privacy and quiet places for the owners and their guests.
The home was designed for lots of light with a feature 16m wide glass stacking door unit, opening the main space onto an expansive deck. Inside, the kitchen features a generous sized white stone clad island bench while the rest of the kitchen is hidden behind simple understated, white cabinetry. At the end of the main space is a comfortable lounge with a gas fire featured between display shelves.
The deck extends along the whole front of the home and provides plenty of space for outdoor entertaining with a large openable louvre covered area providing all-weather shelter. A spa pool occupies a prime spot for the view while a wide set of stairs offers access to the land below.
