This house started life originally as a garage.

It turned into temporary accommodation for the family home until the dream home across the paddock, could be built. In the end it was such a long 'temporary' solution, that the family didn't want to move out and / or demolish the family memories. So we were called in to turn this garage dwelling into their final dream home.

Making it look unified was a prerequisite as well as being low maintenance. Separation of living spaces was desired in this busy family home while not feeling disjointed. Excellent indoor outdoor flow was essential. The new kitchen formed the link between the old and the new. It also opens out to a large outdoor entertainment space over looking the estuary.
